Certificate from the state verifying a company's good standing
Full Definition

An official certification from the state in which the corporation or LLC was formed, stating that it is in good standing (i.e. All fees are paid and that it is in fact a legitimate corporation or LLC in the eyes of that state).

NOTE: Often companies that want to file a foreign authority registration in the state they are operating, will need a Certificate of Good Standing.
