Professional Corporation

A professional service corporation can be formed by filing a Certificate of Incorporation (per Section 1503 of the Business Corporation Law) with the New York Department of State.  A “profession” as defined under Section 1501(b) of the Business Corporation Law include only specific licensed professions such as: attorneys, counselors, licensed physicians, etc.  A list of all professions able to file a Professional Corporation in New York, linked to their respective pages with specific requirements is listed below:
